sporting activity starts in community spaces in Glasgow!

As part of the Glasgow 2026 Festival, Scottish ClubSport has teamed up with ClubSport Glasgow, a number of Governing Bodies of Sport and 10 local community spaces to create exciting, inclusive and fun activities for residents living near to the Glasgow 2026 venues to participate in sport and physical activity.

Through free come and try sessions, the partners are working together to encourage local residents to try something new whilst utilising their community spaces.

Partners met on 25th March at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games offices to discuss opportunities and ideas, and the sporting activity began on Tuesday 9th June with Netball at Roystonhill Community Hub – Spireview – with some activities running until the end of July.

A full list of partners, dates and booking is outlined below and although some sessions have already started, there’s still a number of opportunities for local communities to get active!

Working with ClubSport Glasgow, there is also the opportunity for local people to receive training to support future activity.

We thank everyone involved with the project and Glasgow Festival Fund for helping us to create vibrant and fun activities in some non-traditional sporting venues in Glasgow!
