The winner of the Scottish ClubSport Service to Sport award, sponsored by Forsyths is Elaine McCallum. The award was presented at this year`s ClubSport West Lothian AGM and Club Networking Evening to recognise Elaine`s long standing commitment and efforts towards community and club sport.
This years Service to Sport recipient has been nominated for her contribution to the ongoing success of the No Limits club and in particular her contribution to Boccia.
She has been involved in the club for at least 25 years and has had several committee roles including Chair. She has been a true inspiration and a positive role model to others in the club.
She has dedicated a substantial amount of time to sport, club and community.
This years recipient has significantly improved their club and the individuals they work with through their dedication;
Has provided inclusive opportunities, helping to remove barriers and reduce inequalities in sport; and Has gone above and beyond what is required of them.
This years recipient has run the No Limits Boccia Squad over many years and has taken part in numerous competitions over the years and winning many. In 2015 she was part of the team who won the Queens Award for voluntary service.
Over and above everything, she provides essential support to the joint venture the club have with Lothian Disability Sport every Thursday at the Archery sessions in Blackburn as an instructor.
She has also organised or been involved in the organisation of over 60 weekend/weeklong holiday activity projects at venues which specialise in disability sport.
